Maker Mania Expo

All ages can participate in STEAM activities at the Grundy Library on June 6

The Times

The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St., Bristol, and the Tuscarora Intermediate Unit 11 are hosting a free Maker Mania Expo for all ages at the library on Thursday, June 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

This is a night filled with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities from crafts to fun technologies. Make and create musical instruments out of everyday objects, learn to use paper circuits, complete an engineering challenge and more. Maker events encourage families to explore, tinker, create, make and computer code with a variety of stations featuring hands-on, interactive activities.

Maker events are designed to encourage 21st century skills like collaboration, creativity, problem solving and critical thinking. They allow students to explore STEAM, as well as reading and writing, in a project-based approach. The Maker Mania Expo can inspire and spark children and teens to find or further their passions about whatever intrigues and interests them.

Some of the stations and activities attendees can visit include: crafts, technology, building, button making, Ozobots, paper circuit projects, coding, Kēva Planks and more.

No experience is required to participate in the Maker Mania Expo and no registration is required. For more information, visit grundylibrary.org or call 215–788–7891.
